Dorris Ranch Closure
To ensure the health of the historic filbert orchards at Dorris Ranch, Willamalane applies regulated fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides recommended by Oregon State University and the Oregon Department of Agriculture. Willamalane does not use Class 1 (“Danger” label) or Class 2 (‘Warning” label) products when treating the orchards. To receive email notifications for Dorris Ranch closures, sign up here.
Upcoming Treatments
Dorris Ranch will be closed starting Thursday, March 21, and is expected to reopen Friday, March 22, at 5 p.m. to treat the orchards for Eastern Filbert Blight using Gem 500 SC fungicide. The closure includes the park, orchard, trailhead, and part of the Middle Fork Path. This treatment is weather-dependent, and the specific dates may change. Check park signs for updates and more information.
Park Updates and Ice Storm Clean-Up
The January ice storm heavily impacted Willamalane parks. Some Willamalane parks, natural areas, and paths are closed. For an interactive map of district parks, view the park status map. To report park damage, call (541) 736-4544.
Parks are deemed “open” when partial or full access to the park is possible. Developed areas of open parks, like playgrounds, basketball courts, and paved paths, have been cleared unless noted below. However, debris and marked hazard areas may still be present elsewhere. Please use caution and pay attention to posted signs when visiting parks.
Even with the hard work of Willamalane staff, outside contractors, and volunteer crews, it may be several months before all debris is cleared and all parks are back in full operation.
