Get a safe, effective exercise program created just for you! Team up with a Willamalane Certified Personal Trainer at one of two fitness centers to set goals and get customized support. A personal trainer can help you achieve your goals including rehabilitating from an injury, training for a sport, building bone density, managing weight, or feeling more vibrant.  Together you’ll make a plan to stay motivated, learn new techniques, build confidence, see faster results, and enjoy your workouts like never before. Everyone deserves to feel their best, and the supportive personal trainers will guide you on your journey.

Individual Training
Each session is 60 minutes long. Purchase multiple sessions to receive discounted rates.
1 session: $59 in-district, $70 out-of-district
3 sessions: $165 in-district, $198 out-of-district 
6 sessions: $324 in-district, $388 out-of-district 
10 sessions: $539 in-district,  $646 out-of-district 


Two-Person Group Training 
Two-person group training is a great way to work out, inspire, motivate, and hold one another accountable. Both people in each two-person group must have the same fitness goals. The cost is per person. Both participants must register. 

1 session: $29.50 in-district, $35.50 out-of-district
3 sessions: $88.50 in-district, $106 out-of-district
6 sessions: $177 in-district, $212 out-of-district
10 sessions: $295 in-district, $354 out-of-district

How to Get Started

It’s easy to get started with a Willamalane Personal Trainer!  

  1. Choose the trainer you’d like to work with, based on the bios provided here and the fitness center location that works best for you. 
  2. Register for an initial session online, on the phone, or at the Bob Keefer Center or Willamalane Park Swim Center front desk.
  3. Once you have paid for your session(s), your personal trainer will call you to schedule a one-time 30-minute intake session. This intake session is a chance for the trainer to learn about your goals, medical history, and expectations. The intake session is included in the cost of your first 60-minute training session. At the end of the intake session, you’ll schedule your first 60-minute training session together. 
  4. At the first 60-minute training session, your personal trainer will provide you with the fitness plan they’ve personalized just for you. 
  5. All further training sessions will be 60 minutes long. You will sign up and pay with the front desk and work directly with your trainer to schedule the sessions.

American Council on Exercise (ACE®) Personal Trainer, ACE® certified Senior Specialist, First Aid (CPR/AED).

In 2019 Laurel transitioned her passion for fitness into a career after earning her Certified Personal Trainer license with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). In addition to her role as a Personal Trainer, Laurel teaches the Willamalane fitness classes and leads Wellness Workshops.

Personal Info
Laurel has lived in Springfield for over 20 years, along with her husband, three daughters, and many pets.  She works for the Springfield School District with the Special Education Department at Briggs Middle School. She enjoys traveling, hiking, river kayaking, and gardening. 

Fitness focuses
With a personal history of 100+ pound weight loss kept off for over 16 years, Laurel is an advocate and resource for healthy living for everyone. She is a passionate proponent for accessible fitness for people of any age, stage of life or fitness, and ability level. Laurel is interested in working with populations including older adults, injured athletes, or anyone who needs a modified fitness approach. 

Michie Kawada

ACE® Personal Trainer, Athletics, and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Group Exercise Instructor, MOSSA®, First Aid/CPR/AED. 

In addition to her role as a Personal Trainer, Michie currently teaches Silver Sneakers at Willamalane fitness classes.

Personal Info
Michie was born in Tokyo, Japan, and is fluent in Japanese. She grew up in two different countries and attended schools as a student-athlete before moving to Oregon over 35 years ago. Michie's family background influenced her passion for fitness and personal training. 

Fitness focuses
Michie's goal is to help people move easily and function efficiently in their workouts and daily lives. She also creates experiences in movement that are meaningful for her clients. Michie is a versatile and well-rounded fitness professional, continually learning and growing in a constantly evolving field. She continues to challenge herself, expanding her knowledge and skills to deepen her impact as an instructor.

Nation Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, First Aid CPR/AED.

Thomas has a BS in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon and is a newly certified personal trainer. He has several years of experience structuring workout plans for collegiate club sport programs. He has worked with youth in a summer camp, teaching kids about physiology and anatomy during their favorite sports.

Thomas is a lifelong Oregon resident who enjoys the active lifestyle that the Eugene-Springfield area has to offer. Thomas enjoys mountain biking, weight lifting, and playing volleyball in his free time.

Fitness focuses
Thomas is an advocate of science-based strength and hypertrophy training. He believes in carefully building a sustainable, achievable program alongside the client. Thomas emphasizes positive progression in wellness, whether it's improving on a specific exercise, taking time for self-care, or choosing a nutritious food option. His goal is to help clients improve overall health and wellness.

Certified HBX (Human Body Exercise) trainer for HBX Boxing, HBX Fusion, and HBX Move. Fitness Mentors personal training certification.

Hamza has over seven years of professional fitness training experience working with individuals of all ages and experience levels.

Hamza is a retired international athlete (twice African Champion, 100 meter). In his free time Hamza is passionate about fitness and health, and he enjoys lifting weights, learning English, and exploring his new home of the Pacific Northwest with his wife.

Hamza's personal training style is highly individualized, and he works closely with clients to determine their ideal fitness path.

Four ACE® Certifications: Personal Training, Group Fitness Instructor, Medical Exercise Specialist and Health Coach, First Aid/CPR/AED.

Sasha has worked as a fitness professional for 28 years. She graduated from Western Oregon University with a BS in Education, with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Health. Sasha became a Certified Personal Trainer while managing a fitness center on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in California. Clients included active-duty personnel, their family members, and retirees. She has also worked in corporate fitness and wellness, supporting clients of various ages and fitness levels. Sasha is Willamalane’s fitness coordinator, teaches Willamalane fitness classes, and is an experienced and committed substitute in various Willamalane fitness programs.

Sasha is not currently taking new clients but may act as a substitute trainer when others are unavailable. 

Personal Info
Sasha was born and raised in Oregon. She enjoys daily walks with her husband and their dog Layla, giving attention to their cat Vibes. She also tends to 80+ house plants and spends time in the backyard reading and gardening.

Sasha knows what a huge positive impact exercise makes on daily living. This commitment to positive change drives Sasha to help people feel more comfortable and confident in fitness centers and different exercise environments.
