Willamalane Trips

Explore unique areas near Springfield and across Oregon with Willamalane’s group trip programs. Bring friends and family, or make new friends along the way! These guided day trips take care of all the details. Transportation is included. All trips are ages 18+ unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation policy: 
If you must cancel, please contact us at least three business days in advance or by the date noted in the trip description. Your account will be credited. Late cancellations will only be credited if your spot is filled. Trips may be canceled if fewer than seven people register.

Newell Pioneer Village Candlelight Tour
Ages 18+. This guided tour will give insight into the pioneer town of Champoeg with a unique combination of history, nature, and recreation. We'll also tour the Robert Newell House and Village, historic Butteville store, and museums. Champoeg State Heritage Area is on the National Register of Historic Places.

A Christmas Carol at the Broadway Rose Theater 
Ages 18+. Take a fanciful trip to "Santa's Chalet" in the heart of Grimble's department store one snowy Christmas Eve. As Walter, the security guard, and Frances, the cleaner, make their evening rounds, their holiday fantasies spring to life in this merry, musical spectacle. The two enjoy a tuneful Christmas dinner together, remembering the magic of the season and discovering that with a wish and a song you are never truly alone. Silverton Christmas Market Lights 
Ages 18+. A new location and larger light display at the Oregon Garden Resort. Wind through the paths and enjoy each display of over a million lights. Relax at the beer gardens, browse the Christmas Market; sip mulled gluhwein and other holiday beverages while listening to festive holiday music. Savor the smells and tastes of holiday foods at onsite restaurants or food vendors. Meal is an additional cost.

Birding Ankey & Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge
We will visit two of the three refuges that make up the Willamette Valley National Wildlife Refuge Complex, preserving habitat for wintering Dusky Canada Geese, as well as oak savannas, native prairies and wetlands. On this trip we can expect to see a wide variety of waterfowl species as well as wading and shore birds, raptors, and song birds. Register in advance. Bring a sack lunch and beverage.

Birding Central Oregon Coast 
The central Oregon coast is an ideal year-round habitat for a wide variety of birds including shorebirds, wading birds, raptors and songbirds. View coastal waterfowl along with other wintering coastal birds. This trip will emphasize estuaries as well as the immediate coast. Register in advance. Bring a sack lunch and beverage.

Birding Malheur National Wildlife Refuge
Ages 18+. A premier birding area in the United States, Malheur boasts huge numbers and varieties. An oasis in the high desert region of the Pacific Flyway, Malheur is a magnet for hungry and migration-weary birds of all forms. Lodgings are two nights at the Malheur Field Station located adjacent to the refuge. For beginning to intermediate birders; includes walking. All meals except for day one lunch are included. No full refunds guaranteed after 5/10.
