Explore the Magnolia Arboretum
Between mid-March and early April, Ruff Memorial Park transforms into a sea of blossoms, bursting with vibrant whites, pinks, yellows, and purples. Each part of this 0.45-mile path reveals a rich diversity that comes alive every spring. As you wander through this living collection, take your time to pause beneath the shade, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the beauty of it all.
Even outside of the bloom season, this park remains a sanctuary. The native ash, cottonwood, and maple trees line the banks of Cedar Creek, quietly flowing beside you. Grasses and flowers offer year-round color, providing a home for local wildlife like foxes, birds, and many other creatures.
The Story of Ruff Memorial Park
This park was named and dedicated in honor of Wallace M. Ruff Jr., who tragically passed away in 1989.
Wallace M. ‘Mack’ Ruff Sr. created this space to honor his son. This park remains a heartfelt reminder of the Ruff family's legacy, maintained with care by Willamalane Park and Recreation District.
