Willamalane Little Ducks Preschool
Willamalane Park and Recreation District is expanding its preschool program with the support of the University of Oregon. This partnership will help to address child care shortages in the Eugene/Springfield community and meet the increasing demand for high-quality early education. Construction is happening from January to June of 2024.
System Development Charges
System Development Charges are fees collected when new construction occurs. SDC fees help pay for things like roads, paths, trails, city planning initiatives, water and sewer systems, and parks. Willamalane collects these charges to fund new park development, path and trail upgrades and expansion, and park improvements that serve more people.
Comprehensive Plan
In September, 2023, Willamalane's Board of Directors adopted a new comprehensive plan that will strategically outline the future of Springfield parks, facilities, and recreation programs for the next 20 years. The plan will serve as a roadmap to guide Willamalane's decision-making process, prioritizing projects and providing a framework for fiscal planning. The plan considered the valuable input from more than 3,800 community members, ensuring that the facilities and programs will align with the needs and aspirations of the residents. Ultimately, the comprehensive plan aims to positively impact the community by creating engaging and inclusive spaces that promote health, well-being, and high quality of life for all district residents.
ADA Transition Plan
Willamalane has created an Americans with Disabilities Act transition plan to guide accessibility projects over the next 15 years. This plan aims to make hundreds of improvements in ADA access to Willamalane parks and facilities.
