Run, Walk, or Roll a 5K to Support Active Springfield Youth 

SPRINGFIELD – Willamalane’s virtual fundraiser run, 5K Your Way, returns August 21-31. All proceeds support scholarships and equipment for Springfield youth. 5K Your Way is an opportunity for community members to get active at their own pace while supporting a good cause. Participants can walk, run, or roll to participate. There are five suggested 5K routes outlined on Willamalane trails for local residents, but supporters can tackle the 3.1-mile challenge from anywhere.
 
Proceeds will help keep Springfield youth healthy and active. There’s always a high demand for Willamalane scholarships. However, as our community continues to struggle with increased economic hardship and limited programming, demand is only anticipated to increase.
 
“This spring, we raised $2,300 to support Willamalane’s senior meals program, Café 60. We hope to repeat that success this August and get some much-needed funds for our local youth and families,” said Spenser Lind, Willamalane Athletics Supervisor.
 
Willamalane scholarships fund 50% of programming fees for activities like sports camps and childcare for families who qualify. For scholarship applications, visit Willamalane.org/Scholarships.

5K Your Way for Senior Meals
In April, Willamalane hosted the first 5K Your Way to benefit Willamalane’s senior meals program, Café 60. With 186 participants, the virtual 5K raised $2,300 to keep the program going.
