Willamalane to hold MEGGA Hunt on April 16

The group egg hunt returns!

SPRINGFIELD – After a two-year hiatus, MEGGA Hunt is back for a large group egg hunt at Lively Park. The in-person MEGGA Hunt event is on Saturday, April 16, at Lively Park, 6100 Thurston Road in Springfield.

Registration is open now. Sign up online at willamalane.org/megga or by calling 541-736-4544.

In 2021, Willamalane Park and Recreation District offered a modified version of MEGGA hunt, with small family hunts and take-home egg hunt kits available. Those options will still be available for families who prefer a smaller gathering this year.

Families who attend the in-person event will arrive at Lively Park and participate in egg hunts for babies, preschoolers, and school-age children. Family lots will also be available at Lively Park in a separate section of the park. The event will feature music, craft kits, a photo booth, balloon animals, visits with Hops the Bunny and Springs the Squirrel, and more.

Families who opt for a take-home egg hunt will receive everything they need for an at-home egg hunt. The Take-home Backyard Egg Kit comes complete with filled eggs, crafts, and other fun surprises. It will be available for purchase until March 28 and picked up between April 6 and 8. Purchases must be made in advance.

Willamalane staff are excited to bring MEGGA Hunt back to Lively Park. Special Events and Operations Program Manager Tracy Kribs said, “We can’t wait to get kids back in the park. Still, we know others prefer more intimate settings. We are eager to deliver an event with various options that meet all those needs.”

General admission for the in-person event is $6 per child in advance or $8 per child at the gate. Family lots are $20 in-district $22 out-of-district. Take-home egg hunt kits are $15 in-district $18 out-of-district. Limited family hunts and take-home egg hunt kits are available.
