Willamalane Board of Directors Meeting
The Willamalane Board of Directors holds monthly meetings to guide district operations and special or emergency board meetings when necessary.  Public members are invited to attend all meetings and speak for three minutes at regular monthly meetings during the public comment section.

Valentine’s Dance Social
Ages 21+. Wear your best evening attire and follow along as dance instructor Lila leads a quick lesson in ballroom dance basics. Then, enjoy an evening of dancing, music, refreshments, and hors d’oeuvres! Bring your special someone or mingle with new friends at this Valentine’s ballroom dance social. The event will also feature a chocolate fountain, cash bar, and photo booth. Registration is requested.

Springfilm: “A League of Their Own”
All ages. Catch the beloved 1992 sports comedy-drama “A League of Their Own.” A critical and commercial success, the film is a fictionalized account of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League – begun during World War II by Major League Baseball owners. Starring Geena Davis, Lori Petty and Tom Hanks, directed by Penny Marshall; 128 minutes; (1992).

Aquatics Hiring Event
At aquatics hiring events, lifeguard and swim instructor candidates will learn about the position, have a casual interview, and jump in the water. Please bring a swimsuit and towel to the event. Those who are a good fit for the job can receive a preliminary job offer at the event. From there, the new employees undergo necessary training on paid time, with all certifications paid for by the district. Candidates must be at least 15 years old.

Springfilm: “Iron Giant”

All ages. SPRINGfilm celebrates Spring Break with a free showing of “The Iron Giant.” Set in 1957 during the Cold War, a young boy named Hogarth Hughes discovers a giant, alien robot voiced by Vin Diesel. APRIL

Propagation Fair
All ages. Stop by to pick up free plant cuttings and seeds. There will be hundreds of varieties of scion (fruit-tree cuttings) and vegetable, grain, and flower seeds. Gardeners with seeds, bulbs, starts, or plant divisions to share are encouraged to bring them to the event, but contribution is not required. Fruit tree rootstock will be available for $3. Try your hand at grafting your scion or ask a professional to help. Registration is requested.

Dr. Who and Star Wars actors Jodie Whittaker and John Boyega star in the cult science fiction film “Attack the Block.” The 2011 British science-fiction comedy horror film follows a teenage gang of thieves who operate out of their council estate and are led by Moses (Boyega).
