Resident Companies

Wildish Community Theater is proud to host two resident companies, Chamber Music Amici and Swing Shift.

Chamber Music Amici

Chamber Music Amici is a classical chamber music ensemble that was designated in 2009 the first resident company of the Richard E. Wildish Community Theater. The ensemble has five core musicians: Pilar Bradshaw, violin; Amy Goeser Kolb, oboe; Steven Pologe, cello; Sharon Schuman, violin; and Victor Steinhardt, piano.

With the motto, “Creating community through great music,” the mission of Chamber Music Amici is to produce excellent, affordable chamber music concerts which appeal to all ages. In collaboration with the Springfield School District, District 4J, and the Eugene Arts Umbrella, we also aim to promote the development of a new generation of chamber music lovers.

Swing Shift

Swing Shift is a Eugene, Ore.-based big band that features some of the Willamette Valley’s finest jazz musicians. It was formed in 1978 under the auspices of the city of Eugene’s Parks and Recreation Department as an outlet for interested players to rehearse and perform big band music.

The band has always had a strong educational emphasis. Many of its members are (or were) music educators or students. Performances and workshops for public schools and jazz festivals are regular events, and members are often adjudicators and/or clinicians.

Swing Shift is directed by composer/arranger Jim Olsen.
