Commemorative Gifts
You can help keep Springfield an attractive place to live by donating a tree, a park bench or a playground structure to a Willamalane park. For park enthusiasts, a commemorative gift is a unique way to celebrate special events and family landmarks—births, retirements or anniversaries. It is also a touching way to express sympathy. You can honor the passing of a loved one with a memorial, while making a lasting contribution to the local environment.
Trees
Give a gift that grows. Trees not only memorialize events, they are also your opportunity to improve the environment for future generations. You may have a tree planted, nurtured and cared for throughout its lifetime. If necessary, it will be replaced during the first year (at no additional cost). Trees are planted in spring and fall. We can show you an inventory list if you would like to choose a specific type of tree.

Benches
Give a gift with a view. Benches provide a place to rest and a peaceful moment to enjoy the natural beauty of our urban parks. Benches are crafted from hardwood and iron castings and are designed to endure the elements. Our Park Services Division can recommend the ideal park site for your bench to be placed.

Play Structures
Give the gift of play. You can help provide safe, attractive places for our active youth. From riding toys to swing sets to climbing towers, your donation covers all installation costs and maintenance.

Bequests
Willamalane asks you to consider supporting park and recreation services through your will or living trust. Or, name Willamalane as a beneficiary of your IRA, pension plan, or life insurance. A legacy bequest can be a modest donation or a substantial transfer of assets. More than 70% of Americans contribute to nonprofit groups during their lifetimes; yet fewer than 7% continue this support through a gift in their will or estate plan. When you make a planned gift, you continue to support services that are making an important difference in our community.
Cash Donations
What better way to show you care than to help urban parks continue to develop and thrive for the benefit of our community. Cash donations to parks will be used for environmental protection and rehabilitation, to provide open space and natural areas in our residential neighborhoods and to ensure a healthy wildlife habitat.
