Day Trips
Newport. It's the 35th year of this Northwest seafood and wine festival. Artists and craftsmen showcase a variety of fine art, sculpture, photography, pottery and jewelry. Pacific Northwest wineries will be pouring the finest of wines, and culinary professionals will serve delectable delights. Price includes admission fee and wine glass. Food items range from $1-$10. Event held in covered outdoor area; dress warmly.

Eugene. Back by popular demand! Come for a behind-the-scenes tour of the new Matthew Knight Arena. We'll explore the main floor and arena area, as well as visit the club level, discover rare and unique art, and see the locker and weight rooms. After lunch at the Empire Buffet, we'll tour the Casanova Center, Moshofsky Center and Autzen Stadium. Chinese Buffet Lunch is included in the price of the trip. Go Ducks!

Merlin. Wildlife Images is a clinic, animal sanctuary, and education center housing and rehabilitating bears, wolves, bald eagles and many more. We will enjoy a guided tour of the 24-acre facility and have plenty of photo opportunities. We will then head to the Historic Wolf Creek Inn for lunch at Oregon's oldest continuous use hotel. Cost includes entrance fees and lunch.

Florence. Bring your binoculars and warm sweaters; we'll bring the warm drinks and snacks! About 18,000 whales pass by our coast during March, April, May and June on their way to Alaska's Bering Sea. We will stop at the Sea Lion Caves overlook where trained volunteers will assist us in our search for the giant mammals. Then it's back to Old Town Florence for lunch and meandering before returning home.
