Willamalane Scholarships

Willamalane offers a range of scholarships to help connect residents to exceptional recreation programs in Springfield. If you need financial assistance, consider applying for a scholarship. Scholarships are non-transferable.

How to Apply

Download an application or pick up a copy at any Willamalane facility. Submit your completed application and eligibility documentation at any Willamalane facility. 

Eligibility 

To qualify for Willamalane scholarships, you must be enrolled in one of the following eligible assistance programs and provide supporting documentation. You also must live within Willamalane’s district boundaries. If you don’t have such documentation, you can write a brief essay describing your hardships instead.

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP)
  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
  • Oregon Medical Assistance Plan
  • Oregon Health Plan 
  • Medicaid 
  • Oregon Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
  • Oregon Unemployment Insurance

Available Scholarships

Willamalane Park and Recreation District General Scholarship

This scholarship applies to various recreation programs for all ages. A maximum of $150 in funds from this scholarship is available per person per fiscal year. This scholarship covers up to 50% of program fees and can be used for multiple programs. Not all Willamalane programs are eligible. All-Access Memberships are not eligible. Middle School Sports Scholarships

The Middle School Sports Scholarship makes middle school sports more accessible by reducing the cost of each sport to only $20. This scholarship is made possible by Springfield Public Schools District. The Middle School Sports Scholarship is different than the other Willamalane Scholarships. Applicants for this scholarship do not need to live in-district, nor do they need to provide eligibility documentation from the provided list. The only requirements are attending Springfield Public Schools and providing family size and annual household income. In addition, applicants can apply via phone at 541-736-4544.
