Helping others feels good.

Be a Willamalane parks volunteer! Willamalane can work with you to provide rewarding experiences, opportunities to utilize your talents, or provide training to help you serve your community.
In addition to the benefits realized by the community, volunteers benefit as well. Many volunteers confide that they were inspired by the opportunity to give, but received far more than they gave. We believe this is the true gift of volunteer service.
Pictured above is a group of Thurston High School students who volunteered to help with ivy removal.

What better way to reap the rewards of volunteering
than to sniff the scent of fresh spring blooms you have planted yourself.
Willamalane needs volunteers to adopt a flowerbed at the following parks:
- Bob Artz Memorial Park, 7807 Thurston Road
- Jack B. Lively Memorial Park, 6100 Thurston Road
- Island Park, 200 West B Street
- Millrace Park, 200 South Mill Street

There’s nothing like a picnic in the park
on a summer day, but before summer comes, Willamalane park picnic tables
need a touch-up. Volunteers are needed to paint tables at most Willamalane
parks this spring. A little time spent sprucing up parks now can lead to
enjoyment for seasons to come.

Whether you’re a jogger, cyclist, or walker,
your favorite Willamalane trail may be in need of a touch-up. Join Willamalane
staff and other volunteers this spring in refurbishing trails at these
sites:
- Clearwater Park
- Dorris Ranch
- Harvest Landing
- Whilamut Natural Area
- West D Street Greenway

Put on some old clothes and pick up a paintbrush — Willamalane
is putting a fresh coat on all its shelters and rest rooms this summer.
Just a few hours of volunteer time can make a big difference in the appearance
of your neighborhood park.
