Family Kayaking Introductory Class

kayaksFor parents with children age 8 and older. All equipment will be provided.

Experience the thrill of paddling a kayak or canoe in the safe, warm waters of Willamalane Park Swim Center. Learn safety tips and basic paddling moves from an Oregon River Sports professional. Stay on afterwards for the Slide and Dive Play Swim at no extra fee on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Must be preregistered. Held at Willamalane Park Swim Center

WAVESEEKER 2008: Planetary Exploration

Lap swimmers, water runners, and water exercisers are invited to board the Willamalane Challenger and join us for a virtual journey that will take you out of this world! This is a great opportunity to make those New Year’s resolutions more than a wish. We will chart your course to selected planets in our solar system as you work towards a fit and healthy 2008. Sign up anytime during the challenge. You will receive a prize ticket every day that you work out. In March we will draw for prizes. Bonus prizes for people who work out at least two days a week.

Spring Board Diving: Introduction to the Basics

For ages 8 and up interested in learning the basics in diving. Participants must be proficient in swimming (must have completed the Park Shark swim level—or something comparable). We will be diving off our one-meter diving board. You must be preregistered to participate. Held at Willamalane Park Swim Center.

Lap Swim Clinics

lap swimmingFocus directly on specific skills to help improve your lap-swimming technique. All clinics will require time in the water. Equipment you may bring includes: swimsuit, goggles, swim cap, nose plugs, and towels. Preregistration is required by the Wednesday prior to the clinic. All clinics are held at the Willamalane Park Swim Center.

Learn how to vary your workout and the benefits of interval workouts to increase endurance, fitness, and enjoyment.
